We stumbled across Porlock Weir on a recent stay at Somerset Yurts. The few days we were in Somerset it rained and rained an rained, which I suppose we were due having enjoyed lovely sunshine during our previous 3 visits. We used our cunning and the BBC Weather app to dodge the rain, it meant a little driving each day but it was worth it.
At Porlock Weir you can enjoy lunch overlooking the harbourside at the pub, enjoy a delicious ice cream from the local shop, visit a host of independent makers and businesses, build stone stacks on the pebble beach and walk the coastal path for some beautiful views.
Tips for visiting
Take change for the car park!
There's a lovely little shop on the harbour front that sells the most delicious ice-creams - blackcurrant and double cream ice-cream anyone?
