Porlock Weir

Porlock Weir

Porlock Weir is a picturesque hamlet, once a busy port, is a peaceful and delightful harbour for yachts and fishing boats. Situated along the South West Coast Path, Porlock Weir is also a good starting point for walks to Porlock Marsh and Culbone - home to England’s smallest church.

We stumbled across Porlock Weir on a recent stay at Somerset Yurts. The few days we were in Somerset it rained and rained an rained, which I suppose we were due having enjoyed lovely sunshine during our previous 3 visits. We used our cunning and the BBC Weather app to dodge the rain, it meant a little driving each day but it was worth it.

At Porlock Weir you can enjoy lunch overlooking the harbourside at the pub, enjoy a delicious ice cream from the local shop, visit a host of independent makers and businesses, build stone stacks on the pebble beach and walk the coastal path for some beautiful views.
