The annual orchid display is running at RHS Wisley at the moment until 4th May, 2014, in Wisley's iconic Glasshouse. "The huge cathedral-like glass structure covers an area equal in size to 10 tennis courts and rises to 12m (40ft) in height. It has three climatic zones, recreating tropical, moist temperate and dry temperate habitats." Glasshouse times: 10am to 5.15pm, last entry 5pm - for info please see the RHS Wisley website.
A note for people wishing to take photos: You'll need to spend a good ten minutes in the orchid display section with your lens cap off before taking photos, to let your camera adjust to the tropical conditions!
Are you eyeballs suitably colour-enhanced now ?!
