It starts with you. With a donation.
Positive change that impacts lives in the the UK and Africa for the better. From making sure a child who cares for their parent in the UK has some time to just be a child to making sure a child born in Africa has a mosquito net that will save his or her life. It’s the woman who gains the support to breaks the chains of domestic violence. It’s the elderly person who receives a hot meal and company in the loneliest years of their life. It’s about so much to so many.
What inspires you to give money to a charity like Comic Relief is a very personal thing, but for me it’s people. It’s for people like Tanya and Penny who make time in their lives to try to make the world a better place.
It’s for communities like this, coming together. The Rafiki Support Group received help from Comic Relief to enable them to start a business that not only makes money for their community but feeds their community and trains future generations. Their business model helps other communities start up similar enterprises. Sustainable, valuable and ever-increasing in the people it helps.
It’s for the passion and hard work of the people that work for Comic Relief.
It’s for the hard work.
It’s for the the uniting of communities and entrepreneurial spirits who want to make their lives and the lives of those around them better.
It’s for the professionals who choose to live their lives helping educate others.
It’s for people feeding their communities.
It’s for the chance to talk and share.
It’s for helping future generations not face the hardships of this generation.
It’s for happiness.
It’s for these two. It’s for showing my children that you can grow up caring what happens to people you have never met, in countries you have never been to, who’s problems don’t resonate with your own life experiences because that’s the ethical and right thing to do. Because there are babies, children and grown ups out there need help and even in the smallest way you can be that person who helps.
Please support if you can, as little or as much as you can, as cliched as it sounds it all helps.
