One of the things that I love about Christmas is the meal planning, the party food, the comforting nibbles. We aren't a family who buys to excess over the festive season, we have a couple of days where we really treat ourselves and then it's business as usual on the food front so the food we do buy has to be great quality, delicious food that we can all get excited about as a family.
I was asked if I would like to review a Harrods Hamper in the run up to Christmas and said a gleeful 'oh yes please!'. We have never bought a hamper, Christmas or otherwise, so we weren't entirely sure what to expect but with the Harrods name to it, I for one had high hopes. High hopes that were not let down. I chose The Harrogate to receive, completely sucked in by the pastel blue wicker hamper (I have said it before and I'll say it again - I always pick everything by the cover). Filled with a range of Cartwright and Butler sweet and savoury treats, tea, coffee and a beautiful American hardwood cheese board.
Once you get over the swoon-worthy wicker hamper and start delving inside you soon realize that the packaging in beautiful. The tins that house the tea, coffee and some biscuits and the jars full of preserves are not only pretty but reusable. I can already see them being used in styling photos post-festive season! The biscuit assortment below comes in a wooden box, again reusable and strudy.
The Acacia honeycomb is my personal favourite and Kitty's too. She is already talking about how she intends on helping me eat it and knowing her she's not going to forget it's there!
At £250 this is a luxury hamper, it's content are not just good quality but beautiful and the whole thing feels special, which is exactly what you want a special hamper at Christmas to deliver. I've packed this one away again, minus the packet of triple chunk chocolate biscuits - well I should taste test some of it after all!
Holly berries are on the trees in the forest around me, the hamper is staring at me longingly, just how many sleeps is it till Christmas anyway?
