We are home from our Greek adventures now and I knew exactly what needed to be done this morning as I stood staring at a mountain of post-holiday-washing, some fresh air. I have loved being away but a week of the Greek sunny colour palette of blues, whites and sandy golds left me hankering the earthy tones of home, here in the New Forest.

Walk time: 45 minutes

Route: Easy

Parking: Parking is scarce, just room for 4 or 5 cars one a graveled area on the side of the road opposite the turning into Ipley Manor (map at bottom of this post)

Start off: Crossing the road to walk on the right hand side, head for the tree line.

What you will see:

Ancient trees in the new found Spring leaf shade.

Numerous large fallen tree trunks make for perfect natural climbing frames along this walk.

To the right of the walk, open field, good chance of seeing cows and New Forest ponies
