A stay at Lympscott Barn, North Devon
Recently I was invited to a blogger weekend courtesy of holidaycottages.co.uk. Staying at one of their larger Devon holiday cottages for two nights with a day of exploring locally in-between.
My bedroom buddy, Tanya. Having spent time together in Africa and travelling we are fine tuned to each others sleeping habits ie. one of us snores *stares over there* We stayed in Lympscott Barn, near Kilkhampton in North Devon, a specious holiday cottage that sleeps 14, with 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. When we first walked in we were both wowed by the standard of decor, even more so when we were told that Lympscott Barn has been on the books of holidaycottages.co.uk's for some years. It was glaringly obvious that the owners, who live next door in the dairy farm, look after and love the property very much.
The mark of a truly spacious property is if you can put 12 bloggers in it and it doesn't feel crowded. The huge kitchen, dining and living area was plenty big enough for everyone and I could see just how well it would work for a large family, or pair of families sharing. Bonus points for the wifi that didn't break under the strain of Instagram uploads. Oh we do like to upload a photo of cake us bloggers...
Outside Lympscott Barn there's a hot tub (that you can fit 10 bloggers in we discovered), a seating area and opposite the barn, a games room. Ideal for families (bar the 10 bloggers in a hot tub bit).
Locally there's plenty to see and do, we had a day to explore and it whetted my appetite for the area. In the morning visited Summerleaze Beach at Bude after discovering that an Instagram friend was open sea pool swimming there, more about that in a later post!
In the afternoon we took part in a treasure hunt, complete with rhyming clues, around Lake Tamar.
Lympscott Barn is a lovely space to return to after a day out, it's stylish but homely, iit's neutral decor soothing.
Huge thanks to Emma and Katie from holidayscottages.co.uk team, to all the lovely companies that contributed to our goody bags (I still have mine to look through properly so more on that soon), to the bloggers who were such good company and to my chauffeur & good pal Tanya who always smells of respect ♥
