I'd love to tell you how well my garden is growing today but alas it's a windswept, soggy patch of nothingness at present. I'd also love to be able to show you a magnificent garden that I visited this week but I'm afraid I've been feeling quite poorly so I haven't managed to get out much at all. *Boos and hisses* A shocking state of affairs I know. On the plus side I am looking forward to seeing the other posts that link up even more than usual because of this, to cheer me up from my doom-mongering here.

So today I am sharing the flowers that that bloomin' lovely husband of mine bought for me yesterday. Lilies are one of my favourites, their look, their smell, ahhh they make me happy. I can't wait until they have all opened up - I love them greeting me as I walk down the stairs in the morning. I've said it before and no doubt I'll say it again, if every house should have fresh flowers in, every day, the world would be a happier place!

And so on to some faves from last weeks HDYGG: Growing your own olives, RHS Wisely, light on the grasses (and Emmas new blog design), looking back and forwards, holding hands under blue skies and floods (hoping Katie is ok).
