The theme for Dear Beautiful Boy‘s See it ,Snap it, Love it this week is Vintage. Vintage is all around me at the moment, boxes and boxes, album upon album of vintage and antique postcards, cards and photographs. Slowly but surely I am scanning them, and adding the images to my new venture Piccy, but it’s a slow process, made even slower by my curiosity emerging, making me turn over the postcards to read them. From’Many Happy Returns’ and Christmas cards from 60, 70, 80 years ago to postcards from men in service in the First World War to their families – unable to write down their location, one who wrote ‘I wonder if I shall ever see my own bedroom again’. Totally absorbing, beautiful, emotional…Vintage.
