We wanted to make two moneyboxes this week. We have a piggy, sheep and Peter Rabbit money boxes but we needed something special. We needed a money box for Queen Scamp and Buzz Lightyear (yes you read that right – Ozzy now only answers to ‘Buzz Lightyear’). They want to “save pennies to help babies” after I told them about DorkySon saving change he found for PiggyBankKids. There are sweeties on my jar and sweeties are Food so I am joining in with The gallery this week!
Here is what we came up with, it’s ‘upcycled’ apparently…
Yes, that’s a Nutella jar with double sided tape wrapped round it and Dolly Mixture stuck on!
Beginning this Saturday DorkyMum if we’ll start to collect the odd coins round the house for a month, at the end of the month, count the change and donate it to PiggyBankKids, a charity that helps change children’s lives for the better. As a family we are joining in and it’s lovely to see my children collecting money to “help the children”. I swelled up with maternal pride when Scamp brought down her money box and emptied it out on to the coffee table declaring that could go in her new “money box for babies”.
It’s a minimum effort affair, find a money box (or make one like we did with zero effort above), collect change lying around over the next month and show your children how they can be charitable and help others. It helps PiggyBankKids and the next generation too x
If you want to join in making your own money box or just collecting pennies in one that you already have please see here to read more and join the linky. PiggyBankKids are promising a piggybank to everyone who joins in and one lucky person will win one signed by Sarah Brown herself.

What great money boxes they are. The only problem is some of the coins smelling of marmite when you open up that jar at the end of the month *throws up a little in mouth at the thought*. Good luck collecting your pennies
