The happy rays of 2013 are shining through already

from me

I am not one for making resolutions, I am a a fickle beast at heart. There’s something of the inner rebel in me when someone anyone – including myself, tell’s me I have to do something. Smash the system and all that jazz. Righy ho that is me officially exonerated from any Resolution Linkys… I do however have a great respect for those who do make resolutions and stick with them. Come to think of it even if you make a resolution and don’t stick to it at least you are starting of the New Year with a positive frame of mind – and that cannot be a bad thing.

Towards the end of 2012 it had begun to feel like a number of sad things that were happening to blogging people who I knew, were joining together like magnetic misery forming a cloud of despondency. But now, a New Year, a new start and a chance to look forward positively. And the happy rays of 2013 are shining through….

There’s news that Jennifer from Mum of One is expecting her second child – much love and joy to her family.

My sister-in-law- was proposed to and happily accepted last night *sigh oh to be in love* – congrats Eva and Dan x

Happy 8 year wedding anniversary to Paul ( I’m Well Confused me) and his wife and an extra hi-5 for the wonderful news that he now doesn’t need spinal surgery *phew*.

Maggy from Red Ted Art has been sneaking around a photo of her new book cover – yes the craftiest woman in Britain has only gone and written a kids craft book (you can see a sneak peek here!)!

I am involved in something top secret and I think utterly fantastic with two other bloggers that will be kicking off early February that, if I told you, I would have to kill you. No seriously I would kill you. But watch this space *points to this space*

And the New Year brings new blogs… first one I have seen is The Healer from Older Single Mum.

Now all I have to do is pretend that I have forgotten that I have vowed to start the 30 Day Shred thingy with Papasaurus tonight… *looks for a corner to hide in*

So… good news – do you have any to share?

  10. I’m with you on the resolutions – I like thinking and planning, but not so much the turning myself upsidedown in an attempt to be better somehow, more focused on making the most of the me I already am. But my happy news is that I made my first ever ebook (more of an e-pamphlet really) and people actually like it! It’s a very wonderful feeling. And ooh Red Ted Art’s new craft book looks amazing. Happy new year x

  17. Happy 2013!
This sounds a little serious, but (as a volunteer for Brain Tumour UK), I am getting excited about starting a new Leadership Programme that will help me speak to Brain Tumour patients and feed back their issues to the hospitals where they have been treated.
Love the photo at the top by the way…
Wishing you all the best in your upcoming, new, secret venture!

  18. What a great, positive start to 2013 :-) .

As for me, my little girl will start ‘big’ school this year and my youngest will begin pre-school – eek! The good thing is that my husband has spoken about me taking a month or so off from work so I can spend as much time as possible with them before they start and then help them to settle into their new routine. Apart from that, I’m going to be focusing on my blog, sorting out my flexible working arrangements at work, looking into consultancy opportunities (finally!) and growing my Working Parents United website. I’m going to be busy – that’s the hope anyway!
