‘Happy’ : A Free WordPress theme Twenty Twelve customization

A new theme tweak from me today, one that I think embraces Spring! I particularly like the little image fading as you roll over images and social icons in the sidebar. If you like the flower header image you are in luck as I have plenty of these to add as free downloads soon. I hope you like this Twenty Twelve theme customisation – feedback is always appreciated!

Here I am going to show you how to customize free, responsive WordPress Twenty Twelve theme  for any blog in 6 easy steps. This theme tweak gives you a minimalist, clean, crisp and colourful look.

***The first thing to do, before you start is, as with installing any new theme, make a copy of the widgets from your sidebar and their order. Occasionally, not always, when switching a theme widgets can be lost or move to ‘inactive widgets’. The easiest way to copy your widgets is to open a generic word editor, I used Windows Notepad, and copy and paste the code from each widget in order and then Save.

It’s always recommended to make a backup of your blog before changing any theme – you can read how to back up your blog here. To avoid confusion to readers on your blog whilst tweaking the theme show below I recommend that you go to Dashboard > Plugins > Add New and search, install and activate WP Maintenance Mode.*** [Read more...]
