Today I have a super easy theme tweak for ElmaStudio’s free Ari WordPress theme, it has two sidebars, one left and one right and rather nicely the left hand one stays fixed as you scroll down the page. I likey. I likey a lot.

***The first thing to do, before you start is, as with installing any new theme, make a copy of the widgets from your sidebar and their order. Occasionally, not always, when switching a theme widgets can be lost or move to ‘inactive widgets’. The easiest way to copy your widgets is to open a generic word editor, I used Windows Notepad, and copy and paste the code from each widget in order and then Save.
It’s always recommended to make a backup of your blog before changing any theme – you can read how to back up your blog here. To avoid confusion to readers on your blog whilst tweaking the theme show below I recommend that you go to Dashboard > Plugins > Add New and search, install and activate WP Maintenance Mode.*** [Read more...]
