Bauble bombing with Hand Decorated Glass Baubles from Harrods

On New Years Day I always take the Christmas decorations down and this year, in a moment of post-festive madness I disposed of the sorry looking decorations that we 'inherited' from the people the we bough our house from five years ago. I am sure I made some vow about hand-making our decorations this year, obviously the sort of grandiose statement I could only make in January and certainly not an achievable one when in the midst of house extension mayhem.

So when I was asked if I would like to review a set of 4 baubles from Harrods I said yes quicker than you can say 'ho ho ho'.  At £99.95 for a set of 4 Swarovski Elements Hand Decorated Glass Baubles  they are way out of my usual price range so I was intrigued to see just what one gets for the price tag.

The one dilemma I had was how to photograph the baubles, obviously they would look better hung on a tree but I don't 'do' Christmas until mid December so I grabbed the children and headed out to find a fir tree...

The gift box packaging, in blues and silvers, channels the ever-popular Frozen vibe and although it's not really my cup of tea, it's sturdy and strong - more than capable of surviving many Christmas trips down and back up to the attic.

I'll admit that when I first saw these baubles that they were a bit too 'glitzy' for my liking but having seen them hanging up and the light catching them I actually rather love them. They sparkle so much, Kitty thought they were magical at one point.

I look forward to hanging them on our real Christmas tree this year - my verdict on these baubles? Beautiful and opulent items that do come with a price tag to reflect their quality.

More information can be found on the Harrods website here.

As I sat to write this post I began to appreciate that it's a tricky one, as I know people who would think the price is befitting of the quality and people who could decorate a whole Christmas tree and buy their Christmas lunch with £100 and other who dislike festive excess.  As always I'm not suggesting that you go out and buy an item, just my thoughts on it x
