Autumn Days when the grass is jewelled

Red berries and lichen
Red leaves

Red leaves

Autumn days when the grass is jewelled
And the silk inside a chestnut shell.
Jetplanes meeting in the air to be refuelled.
All these thing I love so well

Autumn leaves on the ground

So I mustn't forget
No, I mustn't forget
To say a great big thank you
I mustn't forget.

Autumn leaves

Clouds that look like familer faces
And the winters moon with frosted rings.
Smell of bacon as I fasten up my laces
And the song the milkman sings

Autumn leaves

So I mustn't forget
No, I mustn't forget
To say a great big thank you
I mustn't forget.

Autumn leaves

Autumn leaves

Whipped-up spray that is rainbow-scattered
And a swallow curving in the sky
Shoes so comfy though they're worn out and they're battered
And the taste of apple pie.

Autumn leavesAutumn leaves

So I mustn't forget
No, I mustn't forget
To say a great big thank you
I mustn't forget.

Autumn leaves

Scent of gardens when the rain's been falling
And a minnow darting down a stream
Picked-up engine that's been stuttering and stalling
And a win for my home team.

Autumn leaves

So I mustn't forget
No, I mustn't forget
To say a great big thank you
I mustn't forget.

Autumn leaves

Isn't this just the best time of the year? It makes me think back to walking to school as a child, scrunching my way through piles of dry leaves and excited for Kitty and Ozzy, that they too can soon be outside, burying each other in piles of leaves and making their own memories.

There's something about the colours and the temperature at this time of the year that is just perfectly suited to me. If I were a season I would be Autumn. How about you?
