I’ve had an idea for Love All Blogs for a while now, one that wouldn’t go away. It festered in my mind and wouldn’t go away until I did something about it. The problem was it couldn’t be done with LAB for various reasons and so I had to start a new project, a new site. I say ‘site’ and not ‘blog’ as it’s not a blog. It’s quite simply Blogpinner.
So I got thinking – wouldn’t it be cool if there was a sort of Pinterest but just for sharing and organising blog posts. Then I thought, seeing as there are 1 squillion bloggers and 199000 squillion people that use Pinterest wouldn’t it be cool to bring blogs to people who don’t actually blog in a familiar format.
And so my eldest son and I have been working on Blogpinner. Now I am nothing if not honest with you dear readers and so I must say this…Blogpinner is not Love All Blogs, my motives are not purely altruistic this time, I have plans. Plans which naturally depend on if the site is successful. Also Blogpinner is not ‘all it could be’. There is a list as long as my arm of things I would like to do with it, improvements that could be made, things that aren’t just copying what Pinterest does. For example it’s not that easy to Blogpin on the iPad, however… I’m not Pinterest, I have no budget, no income, I make no money at all for my blogs. Improvements need investment and that’s not happening at the moment. Blogpinner is very much a case of ‘if you like the idea then bear with me’, then things will happen. There will no doubt be hiccups or technical glitches after all it’s just me in my PJs and a hairy teenager!
It all feels rather renegade at the moment. There’s the huge sharing sites, there’s Pinterest were we all have loads of followers on, there’s little old Love All Blogs which a lot of us are familiar with (and will remain as it is). Is there room for something else, or is it another thing for folk to remember to do? Who knows! It’ll be fun watching to find out though…

It’s a fabulous idea – as I’m new to blogging and ramble through hundreds of blogs I keep thinking how I’d love to keep them all together in a way like pinterest because it agrees with the way I like to organise and google reader does not!
