Well that’s blown the #secretthing then! On Sunday Tanya, Penny and I fly out to Accra, Ghana with Comic Relief for 3 days to visit projects and live blog, tweet and socially share the #goodwork that has been done thanks to some of the £600 million which has been raised since Red Nose Day started back in 1988! I know, I can’t quite believe it either if it helps, it all seems rather ,well, epic. Allow me a moment to run around with my pants on my head screaming… AIII-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
It’s Red Nose Day’s 25th anniversary and what better way than to see and share the positive ways that some of the has changed lives? We’ll be visiting four projects; A women’s bakery (the one shown on the first episode of celeb. Great British Bake Off if you saw it), a school in a slum area, a vaccination clinic and a mental health project. There’ll be a celeb coming to one of these too doing some live filming to tv whilst we lurk, trying not to trip over the wires and muff the whole thing up. But it’s not fun celebrating alone … We have thought long and hard for a creative and more importantly easy way that lovely folk could help us celebrate the good work that’s happened as a result of 25 years of Red Nose Day…
We would love to send you a digital postcard from Accra, to share on your blog. Well I say digital postcard, it’s actually a photo, taken personally by us for you and is for you and you only – no one else will be sent the same image, along with a short one or two lines about the image, again that will be personal to you. We’d love it if you could publish the image and message on your blog either on Monday 4th or Tuesday 5th February.
If you are up for that, please email us at hello@teamhonk.org - be sure let us know if you would especially like to have a nice photo about the bakery, the school, the vaccine project or the mental health project – first come first served. We’ll send you full details so you don’t need to do a thing ! There’ll be a bloghop code too so that all blogs taking part will be linked up on the post of anyone joining in too.

Wow. Brilliant worthwhile stuff, you will smile and.cry for the whole time (we expect pictures.of both). Word of warning, Accra is HOT, but not lovely dry hot, it’s sweaty look–like-you’ve-been-on-a-treadmill hot! Take lots of baggy tshirst and loose wafty cotton dresses!!! Ghana is beautiful, the women and strong and formidable. Do good things!
