Words from the City

I love walking around cities and taking photos of words that I see. Street names, ghost signs, adverts, graffiti, stickers, posters... Somehow when they are removed from their context even the most mundane words become more interesting. Each one is like a tiny visual story or poem. My favourite thing is when the words show some kind of dialogue - when someone uses a pen to deface a poster, or when two people start a conversation on a wall in chalk.
